The Cleveland Orchestra Radio Network is back with an exciting season of concerts from Severance Hall celebrating The Cleveland Orchestra past, present, and future.  Included in this season are two glittering performances by the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra as well as the concerto finals from the 2019 Thomas and Evon Cooper International Violin Competition.  This season also features archival concerts from 1965 with George Szell leading the Orchestra in performances of music by Jean Sibelius, both in Cleveland and Helsinki, Finland.  Cleveland Orchestra principal trumpet Michael Sachs performs Johann Nepomuk Hummel’s Trumpet Concerto in its original key of E major utilizing a custom horn for the performance, and Michael Tilson Thomas leads the orchestra in a performance of Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique and one of his own compositions, Meditations on Rilke.  We hope you will share the magnificent sound of one of America’s great orchestras with your listeners!
